Creating a Theme Area That Reproduces a Nostalgic Rural Village
Hiba no Sato at Bihoku Hills National Government Park is an area that expresses the theme of this park; A Hometown and Playing. We created a space that represents a nostalgic hometown by [1] designing rice and vegetable fields that spread at the center of this area with utilizing the current terrain, [2] arranging hamlets at the foot of the mountains and detailed waterscapes towards the fields, [3] reproducing various living environments of a rural village such as a Kaguraden hall in a temple where Shinto rituals are held, and a secret hamlet deep in a mountain, and [4] restoring the farmer's houses that existed in this Hiba region in the early Showa period (latter 1920s - early 1940s). It has entertained visitors with the support of its enthusiastic administrator until today.
