Creating an Open Park on Its Sloped Landform

Iketani Park is located in the neighborhood of Heijo-Souraku Newtown, which is the center of the Kansai Science City. Since the park will be placed at the edge of the Newtown, we aimed to make a park that can provide rich greenery to the surrounding neighborhoods. We designed every element of the park such as the paths, the lawns, and the planting areas to be seamlessly connected by utilizing the existing gentle sloped landform, and created an open atmosphere of the hilly area. Today, the planted trees have grown beautifully and the park is widely loved as a place for recreations with rich greenery.
